Georg Chmiel is a Malaysia-based entrepreneur with more than 3 decades of experience in rapidly growing, disruptive online businesses. He has led more than 40 acquisitions and been taken over seven times. He has been instrumental in creating a number of unicorns and centaurs.

Georg is the Co-Founder & Executive Chair of Juwai-IQI Holdings, the largest proptech group in ASEAN with more than 45,000 real estate professionals across 30 countries. He is Chair of ASX-listed companies Spacetalk and Centrepoint Alliance, as well as Director of Xamble Group and Kinatico. He is Co-Founder & Chair of Chmiel Global Advisory, Senior Advisor to brioHR.com, modelmanagement.com and madeComfy.com, and founding Chair of GoflexEvents.com.

Georg was previously Executive Chair of iCarAsia, the number 1 online automotive marketplace for ASEAN until its acquisition by CARSOME. He was also MD & CEO of the iProperty Group until its sale to REA Group in the biggest online takeover in ASEAN at that point in time. He was MD & CEO of LJ Hooker Group a leading Australian real estate group with 700 real estate offices across ten countries. Georg also held the position of Group CFO & Acting CEO at REA Group, an Australian based decacorn and worked for KPMG, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey.

Georg is the recipient of the 2024 World Digital Icon Leadership Award, the 2023 Master Entrepreneur Award (APEA), the 2023 PIKOM Unicorn Award, the 2022 Excellence Award for Digital Transformation (Malaysia Australia Business Council) and others. He is a guest lecturer and mentor on disruptive technologies, AI and big data and entrepreneurship in universities.

Georg is CPA, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM), Board Member of the World Digital Chamber, Executive Council Member of the Economic Club Kuala Lumpur. Georg holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Computer Science degree from Technische Universität München.
