Ikhwan Khaleb is a passionate nuclear engineer. He aspires to contribute to advancing the peaceful use of nuclear energy and strengthening public understanding in nuclear. He holds a double degree from Penn State University in Nuclear Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan in Nuclear Engineering & Radiological Sciences.

Ikhwan’s professional experience spans from radioactive source and waste management to design and analysis of nuclear reactors. He specializes in nuclear safety analysis, thermal-hydraulics, computational fluid dynamics, and radiation protection.

Beyond his engineering work, he is dedicated to public education through his social media @nucleartuclear, where he breaks down complex nuclear concepts into relatable and engaging bite-size contents for Malaysians. Through this effort, he hopes to bridge the gap between the nuclear industry and the public, ultimately fostering trust and awareness.

As Malaysia and ASEAN consider their nuclear energy prospects, Ikhwan seeks to make an impact to shaping the regional nuclear strategies emphasizing on safety, sustainability, and informed public participation.
