5TH MALAYSIA SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

About the Summit:

The Malaysia Sustainability Leadership Summit brings together policymakers, government officials, Parliamentarians, business leaders, CEOs, Chief Sustainability Officers, civil society leaders and community leaders to explore strategies to promote, advance and accelerate the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Summit will also take stock of Malaysia’s progress in its SDG journey, highlighting achievements, identifying emerging challenges and exploring opportunities to strengthen the country’s sustainability agenda.

The SDGs, which form part of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, are founded on the principle of leaving no one behind. Achieving these ambitious goals requires collective action, shared responsibility and meaningful collaboration across all sectors of society.

The Summit will promote and strengthen collaborative partnerships between government, business, civil society and communities. Through the exchange of knowledge and information, as well as the sharing of best practices, innovative approaches and success stories, the Summit will provide valuable opportunities for learning, dialogue, networking and collaboration.

The Public-Private-People Partnership (4P) approach will be central to the Summit, recognising that the successful implementation of the SDGs requires the collective commitment and participation of government, businesses, civil society and communities.

The Summit will also recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions to sustainable development. Leading companies, business leaders and community leaders will be conferred with special sustainability awards, namely:

• The Malaysia Sustainability Excellence Awards
• The Malaysia SDG Community Impact Awards

The Summit aims to:

 Promote the 4Ps- People, Planet, Prosperity and Partnership as a framework for inclusive and sustainable development.
 Emphasise collective responsibility through Public-Private-People Partnerships in advancing sustainable development.

 Cultivate a responsible and empowered community of sustainability professionals, practitioners and community leaders.
 Facilitate meaningful networking and engagement to foster future partnerships, connections and collaborations.
 Develop innovative strategies and solutions to address emerging ESG and SDG challenges.
 Explore the linkages between the third sector, economic empowerment and human wellbeing, with a focus on inclusive and sustainable growth.
