Co-founded in 2005 by then ASEAN Secretary General, Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, and Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, President of KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, and Member of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN connectivity, the ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum (ALPF) is a leading regional forum promoting economic cooperation, inclusive and sustainable development, and business collaboration. Since its inception, it has been held in a multitude of cities: Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Hanoi, Manila, Phnom Penh, Vientiane and Naypyidaw.
Held annually, ALPF is widely recognised as a platform that brings together high-level government officials, business leaders, academia pioneers and think tank innovators. Leaders and entrepreneurs have a unique opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas, foster inclusive growth and enhance cross-border collaborations.
Joint sessions on digital innovation, roundtables on sustainable financing and an interactive experience for delegates to integrate into a dynamic environment are conducive to collaboration across the ASEAN region. The Forum will discuss how the region can compete and thrive in an increasingly VUCA world and how ASEAN businesses can develop resilience and better manage geopolitical risks.
The ASEAN Leadership & Partnership Forum 2026 is a high-level regional platform convening government leaders, policymakers, parliamentarians, and business executives to address ASEAN’s strategic priorities in a more contested geopolitical environment. Under the theme, “Navigating ASEAN in a New Geopolitical Era: Keeping Centrality, Securing Prosperity, Empowering People,” the forum focuses on how ASEAN can respond to rising external pressures while strengthening its own resilience, relevance, and cohesion.
Through an opening ceremony, two leadership sessions, and a closing luncheon, the programme examines strategic resilience in trade and supply chains, the future of ASEAN integration through digital economy and energy connectivity, and the policy leadership needed to sustain centrality and shared prosperity. The forum aims to generate practical ideas and stronger regional partnerships that will help ASEAN remain competitive, connected, and people-centred in a period of global uncertainty.
