ABOUT THE SEMINAR
National Unity is key to ensuring continued peace, stability and prosperity. Without national unity the country will be divisive and unstable and this will impact economic development and the social well-being of the people.
There are many ways to promote and strengthen Unity in our multi-racial nation. Celebrating our diversity, respecting different faiths, tolerance and mutual respect and goodwill towards all will also contribute to national unity. National Unity can also be enhanced through sports and youth activities. Likewise, business, particularly multi-racial business with shareholders and employees from various ethnic community can also strengthen national unity and help in nation building. The multi-racial business partnerships with sharing of risks and rewards will bring business owners and leaders closer together. At the same time companies and enterprises with owners, shareholders and managers from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak can also strengthen National Integration. Entrepreneurs from all ethnic groups can strengthen nation building and enhance corporate social responsibility programmes in nation building.
Recently the Prime Minister has spoken out against “Ali-Baba” type of business collaboration as such practises with “sleeping” partners do not augur well for genuine business collaboration. What we would need are entrepreneurs and business leaders from different communities who would build and develop genuine multi-racial business partnerships to strengthen national unity and integration.
Towards this end FGB Malaysia and KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific will be organizing a National Seminar on “Promoting National Unity and Nation Building through Business and Entrepreneurship”. This apt and timely Seminar will discuss the strategic importance of building and developing genuine multi-racial businesses in Malaysia. The unique ethnic composition of Malaysia can result in business growth and diversification in key markets like China, India, the Middle East and Indonesia through multi-racial business alliances.
At the Seminar, Special Awards will also be presented for Business Excellence especially in Celebrating successful multi-racial business partnerships as well as CSR Leadership Awards to recognise leading entrepreneurs and companies for their contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
