Chong Chye Neo

CHONG CHYE NEO currently serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Hong Leong Financial Group Berhad and KLCC Property Holdings Bhd, and QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd. Across the 4 boards, she chairs the Board Technology & Cybersecurity committees for 2 of the boards as well as a Board Risk Committee, a Nomination & Remuneration Committee and a Board Sustainability Committee.

Chye Neo retired as Managing Director of IBM Malaysia in Dec 2018 after 30 years of service and holds the distinction of being the first woman to helm the company in its then 55-year history in Malaysia.
She was part of the Information Technology industry for more than three decades, starting her career as a software engineer on the plant floor and as she progressed on her journey, took on leadership roles that spanned across multiple disciplines of technical, sales, Intellectual Property, and business & strategy development. Her responsibilities spanned across the region of ASEAN, South Asia and other countries in Asia Pacific.

She channeled her passion for talent development by contributing as a mentor and as a speaker in multiple programs by ICDM, LeadWomen, 30% Club, LeanIN Malaysia and other industry conferences. She was a judge for UN Women Empowerment Principles Award (Malaysia) in 2021 & 2022, and the much coveted Kincentric’s Employer of the year awards (Malaysia) in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Chye Neo graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia where she majored in computer science and attended executive programs at Harvard Business School, Boston.
