DATUK PARMJIT SINGH has been involved in the private education sector & the technology sectors for the past 38 years.  He is the Co-founder and CEO of the APIIT Education Group which includes the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT).

In addition, apart from a number of National and Industry level responsibilities, he currently holds the following positions:

  • Pro-Chancellor, Staffordshire University, UK
  • President, Malaysian Association of Private Colleges & Universities (MAPCU)
  • Deputy President, Malaysian Service Providers Confederation (MSPC)

Datuk Parmjit has served the nation in various capacities on a number of strategic National level Organisations including as Director, Malaysia Digital Economy Corp. (MDeC); Panel Member, MSC Malaysia National Advisory Panel; Council Member, Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Over the years, he has actively contributed in Working Committees, Advisory Groups and Technical Working Groups (TWG) related to Human Resources, Vocational Training, Research, and IT.

Datuk Parmjit’s contributions to the IT Industry have been recognised as far back as 1990 when he was awarded the “1990 IT Personality of the Year”.

In 2010, Parmjit was conferred the Pingat Jasa Negara (PJN) which carries the title ‘Datuk’ by Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
