Datuk Wira Cheryl Tan is a Co-Founder of the Supermax Corporation Bhd. She held position as Director of Supermax Latex Products Sdn Bhd, Supermax Glove Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Maxter Glove Manufacturing Sdn Bhd since 1987. Upon the public listing of their holding company, Supermax Corporation Berhad in 2000, she was appointed to the Board of Supermax Corporation Berhad in 2000 and held the position of Executive Director until 2018. Result driven Executive Director with proven ability to promote the mission of the company through effective financial management, operations and administration.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Executive Director, Supermax Corporation Berhad (2000 – August 2018)

  • Overseeing the Group’s finance, operations and administration matters in Malaysia as well as 8 distribution companies around the world including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil and Japan;
  • Play an important role in making Supermax Corporation Berhad, Malaysia’s largest Own Brand Manufacturer and one of the leading international manufacturers, distributors and marketers of high- quality medical gloves. The Group has 12 manufacturing plants and exports their Made in Malaysia medical gloves to more than 165 countries;
  • Acquisition of 2 public listed companies in Malaysia in 2005;
  • Accolades and awards achieved by Supermax Corporation Berhad during Datin Seri Cheryl’s tenure as Executive Director: – Selangor Export Excellence Award 2002, – Industry Excellence Award 2003, – Enterprise 50 Award 2004, – Best Branding Company Award 2004

AWARD

World Woman Excellent Lifetime Achievement Award by World Women Economic & Business Summit. Instrumental in the contribution of medical gloves to various organization during the Covid 19 pandemic in Malaysia. This is done in recognizing the sacrifices of the front liners as well as to support various Malaysian Authorities in their pursuit to fight against the Covid 19 pandemic. Various organisations received supplies of medical gloves are Hospital Ampang, Institut Jantung Negara, Hospital Putrajaya, Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Selayang, Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya, Polis DiRaja Kontinjen Johor, Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Hulu Langat, Ibu Pejabat Polis Taiping, Balai Polis Pantai and many other government organizations.
