Dr. Gopinath’s leadership in standardisation is significant. He currently holds the position of Chair for the MTSFB Reference Panel (RP), where he directs the planning and management of standardisation activities across 9 working groups. He also leads the newly formed task force, Artificial Intelligence Standards Task Force. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Sustainable Cities (SSC) Working Group, driving the adoption of IoT technologies and overseeing the development and implementation of IoT standards in Malaysia.
In his capacity as Chair of the MTSFB AI Task Force, Dr. Gopinath is at the forefront of shaping the future of AI in the ICT sector through standardisation. He leads the task force in its mission to review and create new AI standards, with the goal of establishing a comprehensive national framework for the responsible and effective implementation of AI technologies.
