DR MUAZ OMAR successfully completed Certification program in Project Management from Harvard University. He attained his Doctor in Business Administration from Swiss School of Management; holds a Master in Management from Monash University and a Bachelor of Science degree from St Andrews University. He has more than two decades of experience in top/senior management, stakeholders management, business development as well as strategic affairs. He has had significant tenures with Oxley Holdings (Singaporeowned property developer), PKNS (Selangor State Development Corporation), KPJ Healthcare Berhad as well as Karim Raslan Associates (regional stakeholders management company). Muaz has led the rapid growth of SELGATE Healthcare that is expected to manage some 1,000 hospital beds in the next decade in Klang Valley, Johor and Penang. He also led the acquiring of a chain of General Practice (GP) Clinics, setup new businesses in dental, home nursing, retail pharmacies, digital health app, business process outsourcing subsidiary as well as healthcare-related businesses. He developed and rolled out the first-of-its-kind universal healthcare scheme in the country, Skim Peduli Sihat with an initial state funding of RM125 million. Whilst with Oxley, he planned and secured Development Order approval for a high-end RM 4 billion mixed development at Kuala Lumpur City Centre that included 6-star hotel brands – Jumeirah and Sofitel. At PKNS, Muaz managed to transform the lackadaisical branding of a 50-year government agency through the bagging of numerous international accolades. He was also a member of PKNS Transformation Office that led the organisation’s corporate restructuring exercise. With KPJ Healthcare Berhad, he was a member of the Management Committee of KPJ Damansara Hospital and also developed collaborative ties with partners from Australia, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
