Dr. Parathythasan Rajaandra, known as Dr. Parathy, is a seasoned healthcare management leader and physician dedicated to advancing equitable, accessible, and sustainable healthcare solutions. As Head of Operations at Maaedicare Charitable Foundation, he steers strategic initiatives that expand diagnostic services, establish free clinics, spearhead community outreach programs, and manage a nationwide network of 11 hemodialysis centres. His role expertly bridges the delivery of charitable healthcare with sustainable, scalable business models to secure enduring community impact.
With over 15 years of clinical and operational leadership, Dr. Parathy’s expertise spans rehabilitation medicine, occupational and public health, dialysis, and healthcare management. His career began at Hospital Melaka under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, where hands-on experience in internal medicine and rehabilitation instilled a strong patient-centered ethos and a commitment to comprehensive rehabilitative care.
Prior to Maaedicare, Dr. Parathy dedicated nearly a decade to the PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre— Malaysia’s premier rehabilitation facility under the Social Security Organization (SOCSO). Rising to Head of Clinical Unit, he was instrumental in designing national rehabilitation programs focused on stroke recovery and return-to-work initiatives. Notably, he championed innovative projects such as 3D-printed prosthetic sockets for amputees and a groundbreaking stroke disability prevention pilot program, both aimed at enhancing patient independence and quality of life.
Currently, Dr. Parathy leads initiatives in renal health and dialysis care, emphasizing improved access to critical treatment for underserved patients with end-stage renal disease. Under his stewardship, Maaedicare delivers high-quality, affordable dialysis, while driving operational efficiencies to meet rising demand across Malaysia.
An active thought leader, Dr. Parathy frequently shares his expertise at national and international forums, addressing healthcare leadership, sustainable healthcare delivery, and rehabilitation medicine. He holds an MBBS from AIMST University and an MBA in Healthcare Management from KPJ Healthcare University. His professional certifications include Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME), Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), and Occupational Health Doctor (OHD), underscoring his multidisciplinary proficiency.
