DR. RUSMINI BINTI KU AHMAD is the Director of the Curriculum Development Division in the Ministry of Education Malaysia. She was born in Alor Setar, Kedah. With a BA in Education specializing in Biology and History from Universiti Sains Malaysia (1991), she furthered her knowledge with a Master’s in Science Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia (2001), where she also completed her PhD in Education Management (2006).

Dr. Rusmini started her career as an assistant teacher in several secondary schools from 1991 to 2001, after which she served as a lecturer and later department head at Institute Aminuddin Baki’s Northern Branch. From 2010 to 2015, she held a senior lecturer position at the institute’s Genting Highlands campus. She served as Director of the Research Development & Innovation Center and Deputy Rector at the Teacher Education Institute of Malaysia before becoming Rector from October 2018 to February 2023.

She has made significant contributions to academic literature in the field of education management. Her publications include multiple books on creating successful schools and developing soft skills, as well as numerous articles for academic journals. She has also presented at international conferences and seminars, addressing topics such as ICT integration, teacher competency, and effective school practices.

Her commendable dedication has been recognized through several Excellent Service Awards (1998, 2006, 2020), the Yayasan Sime Darby Scholarship Award (2011), and she’s also a Certified Master Trainer — Specialist Trainer and Coach (2012). As an active member and advisor in several organizations, Dr. Rusmini continues to shape the future of education in Malaysia.
