Dr. Ruzaimi Mat Rani

DR RUZAIMI MAT RANI graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (Creative Multimedia) from Multimedia University (MMU) specialize on Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) and Master Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the Edinburgh College of Art (ECA), Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He completed his secondary education at The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) from 1988 to 1992.

He is also an active writer who has produced over more than 16 books related to visual communication and sketching process. Among the books that have been published at the international level are: A Guide to Visual Presentation, Sketching Masterclass, Drawing Masterclass and Sketching Basics. Books published locally are: Creative Perspectives 01, Perspectives 02 and 03. His book title Sketching Masterclass has been translated into Japanese language. The Edinburgh Old Town, Capturing the Lines of Heritage is his latest book published in 2023 by National Art Gallery Malaysia. It is a very unique book that explains his journey in completing the 500 pieces of The Edinburgh Old Town sketches from year 2000 until 2002.

Dr Ruzaimi Mat Rani is the founder of Visual Communication Through Freeehand (VCTF) and Visualization Through Freehand (VTF) Training Programs. To date he already trained more than 8000 participants from various corporate and government organizations. He is also the founder of Drawzania Platform that helps online users to practice Visualization Through Freehand ability. He believes VCTF and VTF are the two main life skills that are seriously needed for TVET and STEM in the 21st century learning and working environments 30 to reduce “miscommunication”.
