Dr. Sharlene Thiagarajah

Dr Sharlene Thiagarajah is the Chief Executive Officer of TM Research & Development, a world-class research and innovation company of TM Group; with special focus on intelligent connectivity, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, IoT and digital platforms.

Her organization helps businesses solve operational issues and co-create solutions for the global market. She has commercialized 18 solutions for the telco & utilities vertical savings clients millions in operational efficiency and support.

She has +28 years’ experience in the Telco space having worked in R&D, Digital Transformation, Technology & Innovation, Business Development and Strategy.

She co founded two (2) start-ups in the software development and industrial automation space, and divested the software business in 2013. She was appointed Adjunct Professor by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2020, and a Committee Member at the Faculty of Science (Material Science) at Universiti Putra Malaysia since 2018.

Dr Sharlene holds a PhD in Computer Systems Engineering, a Masters Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering (1st Class Hons) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
