Edmond Yeo is a community leader dedicated to charitable and volunteering activities. He is the current Chair of the Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) – Reg No 800646. He is a full time volunteer since 2002.
The Charity is a proud recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. He is a Trustee of One Westminster, North London Chinese Association and a Trustee of London HuaYu Chinese Radio Station. He is the Hon. Chair of the China-UK International Music Festival. He has also led the Chinese New Year customary & traditional celebrations into No.10 Downing Street in 2019 and 2020. He has also hosted TRH The (then) Prince of Wales and The (then) Duchess of Cornwall Lunar New Year 1 February 2022 Chinatown Walkabout.
He is an Advisor to the London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA). Edmond also leads on the “Chinatown Gambling Concern Group“ and he is a member of the London Chinatown Stakeholders & the Leicester Square Association (LSA). He also sits as the Chair of the Met Police Safety Neighbourhood Team (Chinatown and Leicester) Square Ward Panel. // During the pandemic, Edmond led a Community initiative to work with Westminster City Council and the NHS to make vaccination accessible to ALL in the Community. He and his team set up over 20 Pop-up vaccination clinics and successfully vaccinated over 7000 vaccines. He believes ‘ No one is safe unless everyone is saved “.
Edmond was recently invited to attend a Reception following the Platinum Jubilee by His Majesty King Charles III and The Queen Consort at the Windsor Castle on 15 November 2022.
He is active in politics, and had previously served as an elected Councillor for the London Borough of Ealing. He was a former Chair at the Ealing North Conservative Association, and has held various other officer positions. He is also on the Perivale Police Focus Group & Ealing “Stop & Search” Police Panel.
Edmond is a frequent commentator of politics and community issues, and an experienced contributor at many policy round-tables and workshops. He has also addressed several international forums and conferences. He is a school governor at Perivale Primary School and Brentside High School. Edmond is also a Commissioner with the Race Equality Commission in the Borough of Ealing.
He sat as a Magistrate and had served on the Board of HM Prison at Wormwood Scrubs. He was a member of the London Probation Trust Community Advisory Panel and the London Crown Prosecution Service Community Involvement Panel.
Edmond received a “Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Leadership” at the World Chinese Economic Forum (WCEF) in 2013. He is a member of GCET International Advisory Council UK Representative. He was also a finalist of the “Pearl Awards’ Lord Chan Award for Outstanding Individual” in 2006.
Edmond has a proven track record of leading businesses to success. In 1989, he was seconded by a UK international foreign currency dealer to head up the pan Asia Pacific markets where he successfully led the business through legislation changes effected before Hong Kong’s handover in 1997.
