Georg Chmiel has 3 decades of experience in rapidly growing, disruptive online businesses. He has built significant expertise on a global scale in strategy, innovative technologies and corporate finance leading more than 30 acquisitions and been taken over 6 times. He was instrumental in creating 3 unicorns so far during his career and is known to significantly grow shareholder value for all companies he is and was involved in.

Georg is the Co-Founder / Chair of Juwai-IQI Holdings, the largest proptech group in South East Asia with more than 30,000 sales agents powered by a SuperApp.  He is non-executive Chair of Spacetalk (ASX:SPA), Director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF), Prop Tech Group (ASX:PTG) and BUTN (ASX:BTN). He is also Senior Advisor of brioHR.com, one of South East Asia’s fastest growing HR platforms, and madeComfy.com, a highly innovative holiday rental platform in Australia.

Georg was previously Executive Chair of iCarAsia (ASX:ICQ), the number 1 online automotive marketplace for SE Asia (Malaysia (carlist.my), Thailand (one2car) and Indonesia (mobil123.com)) until its acquisition by carsome.com. He was also Managing Director / CEO of the iProperty Group (ASX:IPP) until its sale to REA Group in the biggest online takeover in SE Asia at that point in time. He was non-executive Director of Mitula Group (ASX:MUA) until its sale to Japanese Lifull Group (TSE:2120) and Managing Director / CEO of LJ Hooker Group with 700 real estate offices across ten countries. Georg also held the position of Group CFO at REA Group (ASX:REA) which is now a decacorn. Georg also worked for KPMG, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey&Company.

Georg is the recipient of the 2022 Excellence Award for Digital Transformation from the Malaysia Australia Business Council, the 2022 ASEAN Distinguished Business Leader Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2022 ASEAN Business Excellence Award, the 2021 Impact Lifetime Achievement Award for Property Excellence, the 2020 C-Suite Leadership Excellence Award, the 2016 Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award and the 2015 Top Outstanding Leaders Asia Award. He is a regular guest lecturer on disruptive technologies, AI and big data and entrepreneurship at the University of St. Gallen (USG/HSG), Singapore Management University (SMU), Asia Pacific University (APU), Technische Universität München (TUM) and speaker at many conferences and events. He is a mentor of new company directors in programs run by the ICDM or USAID across ASEAN.

Georg is CPA and Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM), Member of the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) and Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and an Executive Council Member of the Economic Club Kuala Lumpur (ECKL). Georg holds an Master of Business Administration (MBA) of INSEAD, France, and a Computer Science degree of Technische Universität München (TUM), Germany.
