biography

HAYLEY TRENCHARD started her teaching career as an English Language Teacher in China and has since taken on roles in the UK as secondary History teacher, Special Needs Teacher, Head of Department, Head of Year, and two years as Principal in an international school in Malaysia. Prior to and since joining LeapEd in 2019, Hayley has trained teachers, Middle Leaders and University lecturers on diverse topics and facilitated strategic research and planning for educational institutions. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she has hosted countless webinars and forums with leading educators both locally and internationally and has leveraged on her agile mindset to facilitate numerous online training and facilitation. She also led a project team to create a Bahasa Melayu version of ‘Coronavirus: A Book for Children’ in partnership with a leading UK publisher. Her recommendations, insight and analytical eye have supported systemic change in a range of schools and institutions.

Hayley is well versed with the Malaysian Educational Landscape and has built strong partnerships with like-minded educators nationally and around the region. She is currently working on a number of programmes, most notably working with international schools on contextualising their Child Protection & Safeguarding Policies and working with young teachers to increase mental health literacy and strategies for student well-being.
