Kiran Kumar Gandhirajan

Kiran Kumar Gandhirajan is the Senior Vice President and member of the Executive Leadership Team at Biocon Biologics. He currently heads the operations at Biocon Malaysia facility since 2019. Kiran Kumar has been with Biocon group since 2006 and has had over 16 years of association across compliance, business finance, taxation and operations. Having his professional qualification in accounting and business, he has expanded his horizon to oversee operational aspects in biotech manufacturing building capability over the years.

Prior to him joining the Malaysia team at Biocon Biologics, he headed the business finance for the Group across various businesses.

Since his coming on board the team at Biocon Malaysia, Kiran Kumar has overseen the initial commercialization of the operations through contract with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Some of the notable achievements range from leading the facility through regulatory inspections, collaborating with various partners to commercialize products thereby placing not only Biocon Biologics Malaysia, but also Malaysia as a country in the high-tech Biologics space globally. Today, Biocon Biologics is the only sterile injectibles facility within Malaysia to supply products to patients in US, Europe and various other emerging markets. He was also instrumental in bringing the operations of Malaysian Bioxcell – Central utility facility, Johor into the fold of Biocon.

Kiran Kumar considers himself to be as good as his team and sets high standards for nurturing and developing the team. He believes in flexibility and empowerment to ensure that the teams deliver their best. He was selected as the Best People CEO at the HR Malaysia Awards in 2021. As part of sustainability and future growth, Biocon Malaysia is undertaking an expansion of its operations – to be on course to be the second largest insulins facility in the world.
