Lee Ting Kiat graduated with LL.B (Hons) from the University of Malaya in 1991 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in May 1992. He is the Managing Partner of Messrs. Lee & Tengku Azrina, a firm that he set up in partnership with Tengku Azrina binti Raja Abdul Aziz on 1 April 2005.

Prior to this, he was a partner of Messrs. Zaid Ibrahim & Co., the largest law firm in Malaysia. In his extensive career as a lawyer, Ting Kiat is experienced in various areas of law, ranging from corporate and commercial, financing, property and dispute resolution matters. He advises in matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, various corporate exercises (such as acquisition or disposal of companies and assets, fund raising exercises, employee share option schemes, listings in Malaysia or overseas and due diligence exercises associated to the corporate exercises), restructuring of corporations, foreign direct investment, financing matters, property development, joint venture agreements and other commercial matters. He also advises on a wide range of matters relating to banking and finance, industrial relations, construction, strategy planning, dispute resolution and risk management in matters which are potentially litigious.

Ting Kiat represents a large number of local and foreign corporations, developers and banks in Malaysia on numerous deals. He advises some of the top accounting firms in respect of legal matters on various aspects of law. He conducts talks relating to legal matters, particularly in the area of company laws and its recent development, joint ventures, business continuity strategy, property and loan documentation.

He is the Independent Non-Executive Chairman of MTAG Group Berhad which is company listed in the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. He is the Chairman of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (“MICCI”) Southern Region. He is also a General Committee Member of MICCI at the National Level. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of Repton International School and Invictus International School, both located in Johor Bahru, Johor. During his free time, he enjoys music, tennis and golf.
