Mr. Sivavenayakam Velayutham

Sivavenayakam Velayutham, better known as Siva, is an accomplished leader in the innovation and technology sector. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Kolaxus, an innovation and ideation platform that accelerates innovation by connecting organizations with startups, talent, and companies. Under his leadership, Kolaxus has become a pivotal platform for fostering innovation and collaboration.

In addition to his role at Kolaxus, Siva holds significant positions in other prestigious organizations. He is an Exco member of the Malaysia-Japan Economic Association (MAJECA), contributing to strengthening economic ties between Malaysia and Japan. Siva also serves as a Director at both Finexus Group and Apexlynx Malaysia, where he plays a crucial role in steering the companies towards growth and success.

Siva’s career trajectory includes key leadership roles in prominent organizations. He was previously with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), where he served as the Head of Investments. In this capacity, he was instrumental in driving investment strategies that promoted Malaysia’s digital economy. Following his tenure at MDEC, Siva joined Digital Penang as the Director for Industry Development, where he contributed to the development and promotion of Penang’s digital industry landscape.

Siva’s academic credentials include an MBA from Multimedia University Malaysia, which equipped him with comprehensive business and management skills. Additionally, he holds a degree in Horticulture from Universiti Putra Malaysia, showcasing his diverse educational background.

Siva has made significant contributions to the academic field in his early days, particularly in the areas of data networks. He has published one international paper for IEEE and 2 others for a conferences in Korea during his early days as research officer at Universiti Sains Malaysia.
