Angie Ang is the co-founder of Affilion Advisory Sdn Bhd, a boutique management consulting and advisory firm established in 2005 and based in Kuala Lumpur. Angie excels in leading diverse teams, leveraging evidence-based decision-making, and implementing forward-thinking strategies. Known for her strategic mindset, she consistently prepares and thinks ahead, ensuring successful project outcomes. Her strong communication skills and effective networking abilities further enhance her capacity to drive impactful results.

Angie has led projects across most countries in Southeast Asia, as well as in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Her notable achievements include managing a substantial privatization initiative in Malaysia, pioneering numerous market entry studies across Southeast Asia, transforming a traditional credit cooperative into a digitally-driven entity, and facilitating a high-value investment opportunity in the power industry in Indonesia.

Before co-founding Affilion Advisory, Angie served as Group General Manager of a public listed company. There, she orchestrated the company’s transformation from a private entity to a publicly listed one through a strategic reverse takeover exercise. She instilled governance and structure, transformed the internal management information system unit into a commercial IT power tool, spearheaded the implementation of “Economic Value Added” as a pivotal management tool to drive performance, and engineered two successful rounds of fundraising for the group. Angie’s earlier career foundation in banking includes roles at RHB Bank Bhd, Malaysia, and ABN Amro Bank NV’s regional office in Singapore.

Her passion for promoting and supporting the sustainability and ESG transition of companies has led to a collaboration between Affilion Advisory and ThinkThrough Consulting, India, to harness insights, regional knowledge, and experience in sustainability consulting and financing. Angie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Schulich Business School, York University, Canada; a Master of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Cambridge, UK; and an MBA from Chicago Booth, University of Chicago. She also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business from Emeritus Institute of Management in collaboration with Columbia Business School and MIT, and a Certificate in Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategy from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
