LATA BAVISI is the President of EC-Council University, one of the leading universities in the world providing cybersecurity degrees. ECCouncil University was incorporated in Wyoming in 2003 and licensed by the New Mexico Higher Education Department in 2006. The institution was created with a belief that cybersecurity professionals must not only have skills and techniques, but they must be educated to step into leadership and managerial roles in their companies, agencies, and organizations. This belief led to the establishment of the Master of Science in Cyber Security program and the Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security program

Lata Bavisi is law graduate with an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of London and Barrister-at-Law from the Middle Temple, UK.

Over a span of 25 years, Lata Bavisi has had a very exciting career with experiences in different industries across the globe. As a trained attorney, she has helped steer many of organisations she worked with. These roles manifested into leadership positions which benefited the organisations greatly as she played a pivotal role to help corporate growth. She has over 18 years of experience as a member of the board of EC-Council in Asia, which is noted as one of the world’s largest cybersecurity certification body. Acting as an ambassador for the organisation, she has helped in providing the right direction in the creation of new cybersecurity curricula and certification standards, which are considered by leading cyber security professionals as global benchmarks in cybersecurity.

However, her love for academia drove her toward cybersecurity education, and she played a pivotal role in establishing EC-Council University as one of the most prominent online cybersecurity educational institutes across the globe. She joined EC-Council University as the Vice-President in 2015, which, owing to her contribution in the transformation of the university, led her to be unanimously elected by the University Board as the President in 2017.

A visionary in cybersecurity education, she strongly supports and advocates the need to increase cybersecurity awareness in order to fulfil the growing demand of a cyber-secure world. She was among the list of speakers at EC-Council ASEAN Cybersecurity summit 2018, which brought together 150+ senior security professionals and stakeholders from across the ASEAN region and internationally to discuss and debate on challenges and vulnerabilities faced by various industries in the process of upgrading themselves digitally. She was also invited as the Keynote Speaker for Industry Talk at Limkokwing University, Kuala Lumpur.
