Michael Henderson is Professor of Digital Futures, and Director of the Hub for Educational Design and Innovation at Monash University, Australia.

Michael is internationally recognised in the field of digitally enabled educational design, assessment and feedback. His research spans early childhood, schools, universities and professional learning contexts. He has over 130 publications that explore the implications of digital technologies in education – and is the recipient of over $4 million AUD in research funding from national and international sponsors. Michael has been recognised with awards for his educational expertise and
research impact. He is currently engaged in, and leading a number of active projects exploring digital wellbeing, creativity and creative risk taking, digital assessment and online learning design.

Michael is also the inaugural Director of the Hub for Educational Design and Innovation (https://www.monash.edu/education/research/hedi) which is reimagining higher education and professional learning, and is driven by the goal of improving the access, opportunities, experience and success of all learners. HEDI brings together educational researchers, leaders and policy makers with industry stakeholders including educators, learners, technology developers, and philanthropic organisations. Together we co-design, implement and measure the impact of innovative educational designs at scale and over time
