Rizal IL-Ehzan Fadil Azim

Rizal IL-Ehzan Fadil Azim is the Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad (AIS). He brings with him over 30 years of experience in business advisory, banking and finance, including extensive exposure to Islamic banking.

Prior to joining AIS, Mr. Rizal held various roles at Hong Leong Islamic Bank, EONCAP Islamic Bank, The Boston Consulting Group, and Bank Negara Malaysia.

Since assuming the role of CEO in 2017, Mr. Rizal has led AIS in advancing its mission to become a leader in Halal and impact financing. Under his leadership, AIS has introduced several key initiatives, including:

1. Halal in One, AIS’ flagship programme launched in 2019, which supports SMEs to succeed in the Halal market through end-to-end Halal business assistance.
2. SocioBiz, AIS’ social crowdfunding platform, which digitalises the mobilisation of social funds to economically empower underprivileged communities through entrepreneurship. Since 2019, SocioBiz has also supported various social enterprises in securing funding for their ventures.
3. Zakat Microfinancing, launched in December 2023, a first-of-its-kind social financing model that provides zero-cost funding and capital access to asnaf entrepreneurs. To date, RM1,101,000 in financing has been disbursed, benefiting 209 recipients.

Mr. Rizal holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.

In addition to the above, Mr. Rizal is a key sustainability advocate for Alliance Bank Group and drives the Group’s sustainability strategy framework and flagship initiatives.
