Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lim Gait Tong, with ancestral origin from Lingtou County, Huian, Fujian Province, is the person who takes the helm of Farlim Group (Malaysia) Bhd., a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, the Malaysian Stock Exchange. Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong was conferred DSPN which carries the title of Dato’ by the Governor of Penang in 1990.  He was conferred DGPN with the Dato’ Seri title by the Governor of Penang again in 1994 in conjunction with the Governor’s birthday celebration. In 2007, Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong was conferred PSM which carries the title of Tan Sri by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to the wishes of many.

Farlim Group (Malaysia) Bhd. was incorporated in 1982. Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong is one of the founders and served as a member of the first Board of Directors. In 1988, he was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive.  His aspirations were henceforth gradually realized, bringing Farlim Group to greater heights and attaining today’s achievements with far-reaching reputation domestically and internationally. Under the leadership of Tan Sri, the Company was successfully listed on the then Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1995 and expanded its business to China.

Currently, he is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Farlim Group (Malaysia) Bhd. and Executive Chairman of its subsidiary Bandar Subang Sdn Bhd.

Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong, apart from involvement in business, actively participates in social activities and is a prominent figure in the Chinese community. He has spared no expense and effort. Tan Sri Lim is President of China-ASEAN Business Association, was also the former President of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia, Vice Chairman and Adviser of Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

In recognition of Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong’s outstanding leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and contribution to the economic field of Malaysia, the then Yang DiPertuan Agong Sultan Azlan Shah conferred on Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong the Honorary Membership of the Malaysian Association of British Graduates in 1993.

Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong was invited by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and the China Overseas Exchange Association to attend the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games hosted by China to witness the great and outstanding development performance of the ancestral homeland and to share the fruits and joy of the successful hosting of the Olympic Games by China.

In March 2009, Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong was honoured to be invited by the State Council of China to attend the Second Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Council and the Second Session of the 11th National People’s Congress held in Beijing.

From 2011 to 2014, Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong was invited by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China to attend the Asian Boao Forum held in Hainan.
