Senior Director of Strategic Planning Division, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)
RAJA BADRULNIZAM RAJA KAMALZAMAN started his career in the insurance broking industry in 1994 and later joined the Malaysian Timber Council as a Marketing Executive in 1996. In 2002, he was assigned as the Regional Marketing Officer of The Malaysian Timber Council office in Dubai.
He begins his career with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the National Trade Promotion Agency, under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI) in 2004 as Senior Manager in the Product and Services Division. Currently, he is the Senior Director of Strategic Planning Division of MATRADE/Head Office. Prior to his appointment in October 2022, he served as the Trade Commissioner for two and a half years at MATRADE Germany, and four years at MATRADE London Office from 2006 to 2013. He was also the Director and Head of the Construction and Professional Services Section and Head of the ASEAN Unit in 2016.
He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Arts (Majoring in International Relations) from the University of Keele, United Kingdom in 1993.
Raja Badrulnizam has been actively involved in various committees and programmes for the promotion of Malaysia’s trade and exports of products and services globally. He has been a speaker in many trade events related to the ASEAN region and had been assigned as the Head of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Taskforce at MATRADE and member of the CPTPP Steering Committee.
