MR. SHAH SIDEK is an advocate of digitalization. This began early from academic years through to professional capacity in design & built environment, having worked on CAD, GIS and 3D animation in the early 1990’s.
Shah is also a staunch believer in collaboration. In recent years Shah has successfully connected various entities (academia and enterprise) from the US, UK, Finland, China and others with Malaysia including setting up base in the technology sector.
In 1999, he founded and became CEO of VtoV.com Inc, a digital media and
technology company in California, USA. Shah returned to Malaysia in 2002 and was a Resident Consultant at Macroworks PMC, and subsequently held roles at Unisay Sdn Bhd, Biofriendly Corp (USA), MDEC, Digi Telecommunications (Telenor Group), Tricubes Berhad, DTA Capital (a Mavcap venture capital company) & others.
Shah participated in several of Stanford’s Roundtable for Entrepreneurship in Education (REE) by Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) and a member of the founding team and head judge for Digi’s Challenge for Change (C4C) Programme. He was a panel mentor to International Construction Industry Incubation Alliance of Shenyang Jianzhu University (China) and chief representative (Malaysia) for Fintrade- Mercer Group, a Hong Kong based market access and business advisory outfit for Finnish companies.
He has held positions of CEO of MSA Resources, a digital infrastructure group and HATI International, a healthcare technology group and VP of CREST (Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science & Technology) Group, based in Penang. Shah was the Regional Director (ASEAN) of International Data Center Authority (IDCA), USA.
He is currently the acting Chief Commercial Officer and Government Relations for Dataswyft.
Shah is a member of the Data Commission committee (pro tem) under the Ministry of Digital, Malaysia. He is also an independent non executive director of the listed Betamek Berhad & Dataprep Holding Berhad . Shah is a Venture Partner to HIVE Ventures Limited, a Taiwan based venture capital entity and advisor to several technology companies and startups.
Shah received his Diploma in Architecture from MARA Institute of Technology. He subsequently obtained his BA (Hons) in Architectural Studies and then Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture and Urban Design from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom.
